from the return on you investment academy, which our mission is every day is to help you be the best version of you. And I've been running for the last couple of days a public speaking challenge. So we've gone through three days. There's two days left. So it's five days in total. And I'm saving day four and five for tomorrow and the next day. But tonight I just wanted to bring a little value to you because I was traveling and I'm dealing with some family stuff and hey, you know, life life happens. And um, one of the things that I think that is most important about this academy is that we begin to connect and create a community that we can share things together. But, you know, anyway, so that's another thing. So what do I have for you tonight? Because my mission is to bring you value and our academy's mission is to bring you value. And one of the things that I was so surprised with during my travels today was this little book, the gift of Struggle.

Speaker 2: (01:08)
I gotta Tell Ya, I, I dog eared, I mean look at this, I dog eared and I basically highlighted and underlined so much in this book and wrote so many notes down because it was amazing. And so I wanted to take a little bit of time just real quick and share the Aha moment for me. And so the Aha moment for me was it actually came to page one 56 which was remain a student, remain a student, remained a student of what remained is student of the struggle. The struggle could mean so many different things. As I read through this book, it meant a lot of different things to me. And for the author of this book struggle meant a lot of things as well, but it was the best word for them that described their journey. And that's what really, you know, struggle means to me is the journey.

Speaker 2: (02:12)
And the main takeaway from this book was remain a student because the struggle is going to be there no matter what in your life. And if you think it's never going to go away, then you're not going to achieve what you want. The struggle is where it's at. The struggle is what brings you what you're looking for. You've got to forge through the struggle in order to get to what you're looking for. So the last of the, and the last other piece I want to point out is at the end of the book, and I'm not, and I'm not going to give away the details because I really do. Um, I don't, not supported by this author or there's publisher or this book or anything else. It just really touched me. Um, as you can see by that dog ears in, uh, the underlining, but basically listen to this. So at the end of the book and uh, and so part one asks, who am I?

Speaker 3: (03:09)
Boom.

Speaker 2: (03:10)
The question of why Man r o y I academy starts the first question. Who are you? What's your why? Right? Simon Sinek. Thank you for that part too. Look at that. Give more than take simple truth. Always give of yourself more than take. I got to tell you, being involved with nonprofits and being involved with uh, uh, helping, uh, lead a church, um, there's, there are givers and takers and they're in, especially in the nonprofit world or those that are going to take more than than they're going to give. So giving always has to be greater than taking no matter in what organization or a relationship that you are. And I don't care if you don't feel like you're get, you're getting what you want out of a relationship. Give, never questioned it. Just give. Alright. So part three, choose your impact. Where are you gonna spend your time?

Speaker 2: (04:25)
You got to know that you gotta have a vision for your life. You have to have a mission for your life. You have to have goals, you have to have that all set in place. And that's a lot of what we teach here at the ROI Academy is vision, mission goals for you because you are becoming the CEO of your life, which translates. And so, you know, this little book, it was so empowering just to read it. And I want to share a little bit of it with you and I'm coming up on five minutes. And so I tried to keep everything smaller than that. If you're not going to read this book,

Speaker 3: (05:06)
fine. But

Speaker 2: (05:08)
my suggestion to you is that invest in yourself, spend the time, read, invest in you because you matter, you matter more than you will ever know. And um, I just wanted to share that with you. And um, just coming back from a little bit of a sappy time because, uh, had some hard, difficult family times and that kind of stuff and it really made me think about anyone that I could possibly touched through being a part in being the founder and speaking as a part of the ROI Academy. And I really, really do want you to be the best version of you. So I hope you had a few Aha moments tonight. Um, whether it's this book or something else, invest in yourself. Know that the struggle is your journey and it is forging you to be the best version of you, like to end everything I do. By saying that you are loved because everyone needs to hear at least once a day. They're loved and you are loved, especially by the ROII Academy. All right, we'll talk to y'all later and get ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow is day four of public speaking challenge, and then we go on to day five, which is going to be off the hook to talk to you. Then we'll see it.
