Change IN Your Pocket Truth Moment

Sep 30, 2019

So lets not get this confused. Ever since moving from a corporate and then owning my own businesses path to now pouring into others for their success. I get this all the time. What should my social strategy be? And my response is. Let me see your calendar. And people are like why? I want to see how many breakfast, lunches, employee sit downs, networking events you have blocked on your calendar.

Listen, I love social. I am a HUGE fan and spend hours and a ton of money in this area to become an expert. It matters. With that said, if you need to make money it requires people engagement not likes. Likes is branding. Branding is the beautiful long game.

Executing today is still a handshake. A lunch. Time to break bread over breakfast. A beer, wine or scotch  together. I coach a ton on Social and the importance. I then flip the coin and ask, tell me about your hand shaking and kissing babies time?

The most valuable thing besides time is who you are. And we have been given...

17 Things I Would Tell My Younger Self

Sep 24, 2019

Luckily, most of what we need to know to live life wisely has already been said and written. A lot of intelligent people have already lived and shared their ideas and experiences. This is one of the best aspects of reading good books. You can learn from others, rather than having to figure it out yourself. But , it i also good to share with one another in other ways like here in this video.

When I was thinking about what I tell my younger self, I said maybe these words and video would help someone else. So here they are in video and written down.

Consider these ideas:

1. Action often trumps knowledge. Someone that knows a little but does a lot will beat someone that knows a lot but does little. Ensure that you’re not procrastinating under the guise of gathering more information.

2. Focus on the things you can control. If you can control it, why worry? Just take action to manage it the best you can. If you can’t control it, there’s no value in worrying.

3. You...

Day #5 Public Speaking Challenge - I Dare You

Sep 14, 2019

This series of 5 videos will mean absolutely nothing without you taking action.

Welcome to day #5 of the public speaking challenge. Wow, you made it! Congratulations!

Today we’re going to be talking about actually going public.

SUCCESS FACTOR:

It’s one thing to know about confronting your fears, varying your speed and tone, going off script, and eliminating garbage words.

All those things are crucial to your public speaking success.

But here’s the deal: this knowledge won’t help you improve unless you actually PRACTICE.

You’ll only get good at public speaking if you ACTUALLY do some public speaking.

Yes, this is scary. Yes, it’s intimidating. But it’s essential.

That’s why the final day of this challenge is about actually going PUBLIC.

Thankfully, you don’t have to stand up in front of thousands of people to get practice. There are lots of simple ways to get practice.

But practice does make perfect.

ACTION:

I’m going to...

Day #4: Public Speaking Challenge ELIMINATING GARBAGE AND FILLER WORDS

Sep 13, 2019

I will admit right upfront, this is still my number one weakness. I am aware of it,. but do not let it hinder me from getting in front of people to talk and communicate what I care about. Which is investing in you and others my life education and experience.

Today we’re going to be discussing the important subject of eliminating garbage and filler words from your speech.

SUCCESS FACTOR:

My guess is that when you practiced going off script yesterday, you ended up using a LOT of filler words like

  • “Ummm”

  • “You know”

  • “Like”

  • “Basically”

  • “Kind of”

This is understandable. After all, it’s HARD to speak without a script.

But here’s the thing: filler words can be REALLY distracting for the audience.

On top of that, they make you seem unprofessional and amateurish. Those who don’t use filler words seem smooth, polished, and like they KNOW what they’re talking about.

If you...
